UPDATE June 26th, 2021: We were informed that Everman staff received an email on June 26th 2021 that Dr Amos has passed away. We wish the family condolences on their loss. We will no longer update this page unless those updates pertain to any new allegations or information regarding misconduct.
UPDATE June 23rd, 2020: We were contacted by several Everman ISD parents regarding taking action against Dr Curtis Amos. They are organizing a citizen’s movement to demand his immediate resignation. We have put them in contact with a news reporter from a major DFW news outlet to cover their story. We will update this page as we get information.
UPDATE May 18th, 2020:
A reader contacted us stating that she has personally been involved in an on-going situation with the Everman ISD Superintendent’s office and shared some details with us about this situation. She stated that she filed an Open Records Request with Everman ISD in March 2020 and that Everman ISD administrative staff in the district has refused to turn over these records.
She has stated she has filed a complaint with the Office of the Attorney General regarding multiple violations of the law and intends to file her own complaint with Texas Education Agency against the Superintendent and other Everman ISD administrators and staff some time this week for refusing to comply with the request. She stated she will keep us abreast with developments of her complaints.
She stated that the records she filed a request for were for Settlement Agreements for any staff or educators for the years 2017 through 2020. Everman ISD refuses to turn the records over. We have checked with an independent Education attorney on applicable laws on this reader’s situation and she stated that Everman ISD is legally obligated to turn over those Settlement Agreements and failure to do so is a substantial breach of law.
We have several other attorneys who are following our news story as well and we welcome their participation if they choose to do so.
FIRST RELEASE:
Dr Curtis Amos has been Superintendent of Everman ISD for about 3 years.
He has had a formal complaint entered against him with the Texas Education Agency in September 2019 for the following 2 items and this TEA investigation is still ongoing. Dr Curtis Amos is fighting this TEA investigation with everything he has and has thus far managed to hide behind the claim that, as Superintendent, he was simply discharging his administerial duties in his work contract to offer both of these disgraced Everman ISD coaches “settlement agreements”, waste taxpayer funding to pay them out for more than $70,000 of hush money to accept their resignations to leave the district on good terms despite them being found accountable for educator misconduct and he did not report to the appropriate state or local enforcement agency on 4 counts.
The Superintendent is appointed to his position by the Everman School Board, who are elected by viewers like you. Should he continue to remain in his position as head of the district? Contact your Everman School Board Representative by clicking here and make your voice heard.
Everman School Board Rep Woodman Dawson was contacted the first week of April 2020 about this story and asked for his comment. He has not responded.
In recent years, the State of Texas has enacted statutory laws to prohibit and prevent these kinds of systemic abuses and illogical defenses by district administrators and to provide for criminal penalties should they engage in this type of corrupt behavior anyway.

Item 1:
In March 2019, Dr Curtis Amos, as part of a team, improperly conducted an investigation into admissions by Everman ISD coach John Tinker that were filed in a Title VII DIA complaint by a female co-worker. Here are some of the items to which John Tinker admitted to, and some items which were witnessed by the co-worker, that Everman ISD was being asked to investigate in this Title VII DIA complaint.
John Tinker admitted to 1) having sexual relations with 4 female former students and used language which indicated possible grooming of students while actively his students, 2) having an erection for the co-worker in a classroom full of all female students who commented on his erection and him leaving class to masturbate to relieve his erection, 3) that Dale Matlock, Athletic Coordinator for Everman ISD, knew of and actively encouraged male coaches to have sexual relationships with female staff to encourage grade manipulation for athletes, 4) to the School Board President knowing of his sexual predation history and not stopping him, 5) to sexual relationships between administrators and teachers, 6) to numerous sexual dalliances in dizzying combinations of many Everman ISD staff including his own wife, 7) propositioning the co-worker to threesomes, unbeknownst to the 2 staff members he offered up, 8) to sending a nearly nude photo of another female staff member, unsolicited, to the co-worker, 9) to sending 2 pictures of his penis in his underwear demonstrating an erection to the co-worker and 10) a whole host of other admissions.

Dr Curtis Amos and Dr Felicia Donaldson conducted an improper investigation into John Tinker’s actions and admissions, with the goal of burying this investigation to avoid a public scandal. They dismissed 22 out of 23 items and admissions, but still “passed the trash” on John Tinker to remove him out of the district. They paid him out about $47k to buy out his contract, allowed him to resign on good terms and did not report to CPS about John Tinker’s admissions, nor to the State Board for Educator Certification within 7 days of finding him accountable for educator misconduct.
TEA is heavily investigating both improper investigations on behalf of Dr Curtis Amos and Everman ISD and TEA’s investigation is still ongoing.
Item 2:
In April 2019, Gilbert Fuentez, a coach and Business teacher, injured his hand while breaking up a student fight. At the workman’s comp clinic, he was asked to submit to a drug test, as per Everman ISD policy. He substituted a urine sample on the 1st attempt and it failed “inconclusive for temperature”. He was told to wait 2 hours in the lobby and drink 40 ounces of water to submit to a 2nd sample. He refused. Dr Curtis Amos called him back to the Everman ISD administration building, where Dr Amos could not break down Gilbert Fuentez into going back for a 2nd sample. In an attempt to manipulate and force Gilbert Fuentez into giving the 2nd sample, he decided to throw the co-worker, that Gilbert Fuentez was romantically involved with, under the bus and said to Gilbert Fuentez that she snitched him out to Everman ISD for “cocaine use”. Amos stated that an “ex-girlfriend” gave the tip, without directly announcing the co-worker’s name to Gilbert Fuentez.
Dr Amos probably assumed that Gilbert Fuentez would feel as if he was caught red-handed by insider information and would confess to his drug use or provide a 2nd sample to prove his innocence. Neither of those things occured.
Instead, what Dr Amos did was play with fire and immediately place the life of the co-worker in danger. What Dr Amos didn’t know is that Gilbert Fuentez was involved with 5 different women in relationships and that both the co-worker and R.R. both lived nearby. So, Dr Amos was not aware that, in accusing someone who Gilbert Fuentez was involved with romantically as the source that there were 2 women who could have fit that description.
Likewise, neither were exes at that time. Gilbert Fuentez immediately suspicioned the co-worker instead of R.R., as he knew that Dr Amos only knew about their relationship, and not the relationship with R.R. Later, on 2 separate occasions in April and May 2019, Dr Amos would reinforce his accusation to Gilbert Fuentez in additional actions and conversations that pointed at the co-worker, while Dr Amos still did not know about R.R.
Gilbert Fuentez lied to Dr Curtis Amos to say that he and the co-worker were broken up already at this 4-16-2019 meeting at Dr Amos’ office and he said she was a lying psycho. None of which is true.
In fact, to hide from Dr Amos that Gilbert Fuentez and the co-worker were still involved at that time, he made the co-worker use a secret chat app called Viber, which destroys messages after a certain amount of time, so that she would have no record to show to Everman ISD that their relationship was still on-going and to prove that Gilbert Fuentez lied to Dr Amos in this meeting.
The co-worker ended the relationship on 7-2-2019 when it was discovered that Gilbert Fuentez had lied to her several weeks before that he was broken up with R.R. when in fact he was not; he told R.R. much the same story that he was broken up with the co-worker when he in fact was not.
What else that Dr Amos did not know when he decided to play with fire is that Gilbert Fuentez was already being investigated in Ft Worth for domestic violence in a bloody assault on R.R. just 11 months prior to all of this. Gilbert Fuentez has violent mood swings, uses threats and harassment and physical intimidation towards women in a variety of situations and this has been reported and verified by 3 out of these 5 women.
Dr Amos, by pointing the finger at the co-worker, immediately caused Gilbert Fuentez to turn on the co-worker when he left Dr Amos’ office.
Read the full Texas Education Agency complaint above to find out what happened afterwards.
The co-worker was effectively silenced, especially after her daughter’s life was threatened by Gilbert Fuentez, and all proof she had of his drug use was made to be deleted and her phone gone through after Gilbert Fuentez left the administration building on 4-16-2019. Weeks of physical and verbal harassment by Gilbert Fuentez towards the co-worker was designed to silence and control her so she did not ruin his “settlement agreement” talks with Everman ISD.
Despite all this, Dr Curtis Amos gave Gilbert Fuentez a “settlement agreement” and paid him out about $27k in hush money with taxpayer funding to buy out his contract and allow him to resign on good terms, and “passed the trash” by allowing Gilbert Fuentez to go to Austin ISD free and clear.
Dr Amos should have reported to Texas Department of Public Safety within 24 hours on the 1st substituted/failed drug test and the 2nd refused drug test because Gilbert Fuentez had a CDL as a coach to drive his athletes around in a school bus, who did so most likely with drugs in his system.
And Dr Amos failed to report to the State Board for Educator Certification within 7 days of finding Gilbert Fuentez accountable for educator misconduct.
In a meeting on July 29th, 2019, which is on audio recording and has been handed over to TEA, between the co-worker, Dr Amos and Dr Donaldson, Dr Amos actually tells the co-worker “to leave that man alone”, and “haven’t you ever made a mistake before?”, and “he’s probably cleaned his life up by now” and to do nothing about it. And, when the co-worker stated, TWICE, that she felt it was unconscionable that he could be driving children around on a bus with drugs in his system and to not report that, TWICE, Dr Amos dismissed those statements and that line of ethical reasoning by going on the offensive and attacking the co-worker’s character.
These are not the attitudes and morals of a man fit to lead an entire district of schoolchildren and see to their well-being. These are not the actions and words that model the professional duties to staff and community members that a Superintendent is tasked with in creating a safe, legal work environment and to ethically manage the tax-payer funding and abide by state law and local policies.
Hopefully, TEA does not back off this investigation and will eventually censure, discipline or outright revoke the certification of Dr Amos. Hopefully the Everman ISD School Board will revoke his employment to protect its’ children, community and funding.
These are just TWO documented incidents. Who knows how many other victims, witnesses and situations exist that Everman ISD and Dr Curtis Amos has hidden and covered up?
The community deserves to know. Reach out to your Everman School Board Rep using the link provided at the top of this page. YOU can make a difference!
