Everman ISD attempts to skirt the law by including a section whereby they erroneously claim 1) that Everman ISD has no duty to report to Texas Education Agency or State Board for Educator Certification for Gilbert Fuentez’ drug use and conduct and 2) that Gilbert Fuentez is effectively given a “gag clause” in this Settlement Agreement that prevents him from participating in any investigation by state agencies into Everman ISD’s actions in “passing the trash” on Gilbert Fuentez.
Local and Legal Policies of Everman ISD do NOT supersede state laws which include the Texas Education Code and regulatory and statutory laws for Texas Department of Public Safety.
By Everman ISD Superintendent and other administrators claiming supremacy over a multitude of state laws by including these clauses in this “Settlement Agreement”, Everman ISD has had a formal complaint entered with Texas Education Agency in September 2019 and Texas Education Agency is taking this matter seriously and conducting a thorough and extended investigation.
This is NOT the first time that Everman ISD has been investigated by the federal Department of Education in recent years or Texas Education Agency.
While the investigation is still being conducted, confidential details on behalf of the work, sanctions and other items that investigators are pursuing will not be posted on this page, unless and until individual items are completed one-by-one and closed out of the investigation.

Gilbert Fuentez’ certification has been surrendered. John Tinker’s certification has been red-flagged online as “under review”. Dr Curtis Amos continues to hide behind the excuse of “conducting his administerial duties to Everman ISD” to stall and block any sanctions from TEA towards him during this investigation. At this time, due to the step-by-step process of the investigation, it is not yet been decided what direction the investigation will consider until it comes to Dr Curtis Amos in that due course of time.
